The Pisoni Estate Chardonnay is crafted each year from the secluded, high elevation blocks of our mountainous vineyard. The rocky terrain provides fruit of structure, maturity, and complexity. A preview of this wine’s rich and powerful character is displayed through its deep lemon core with undeniable youth, tension, and vibrancy. Aromas of lemon peel, ripe melon, and pear tart create a fleshy approachability that is harnessed by restrained notes of Honeycrisp apple and a stony, almost saline, mineral undertone. On the palate, flavors of grilled white peach pair harmoniously with notes of brioche and candied ginger. A long, racy edge of fresh acidity keeps the voluminous components of this wine in a delicate balance, while 17 months of sur-lie aging in 50% new French oak barrels provide added texture to an already lengthy and complex finish.

The Pisoni Estate Pinot Noir is comprised of vineyard blocks from the several different ridges and soil types at Pisoni Vineyards. The highly complex terrain and older vines bring about a wildly complex and beautiful expression of Pinot Noir. The early season of 2022 brought phenolic development early, which results in wonderfully pure and rich aromatics followed by excellent tannin structure. Deep purple, this wine leaps from the glass with aromas of violets, speiced plum, lavender, crushed strawberry and rose petal. The texture is equally impressive with rich layers of gentle tannins. On the palate one gains a sense of power from the wine, with evolving richness, and the integration of carefully selected French Oak barrels. After hand-picking, sorting, native fermentation, this wine is aged in barrel without racking or moving from 10 months. Bottling is then carried out carefully and without fining or filtration to obtain the most exquisite Pinot Noir.

The 2023 Pisoni Estate Pinot Noir is a wine born from a cold vintage on the mountainside that is Pisoni Vineyards. The 2023 vintage was the coldest and latest growing season since the 1999 vintage. The slow progression of this season took patience, but brought an elegant beauty to the profile, while still maintianing a characteristic concentration. Fresh rose petal, black cherry, succulent plum leap from the glass, while soft tones of baking spice and sage follow. Colder years generally require more work in the vineyard to ensure ripeness. This rewarded with low yields that slowly ripened and brought fine-grained tannins, a rich profile and bright acidity. The 2024 Pisoni Estate Pinot Noir is generous, complex and structured. This Pinot Noir showcases a deep ruby color with a purple core. On the nose, crushed raspberry and dark cherry open first, followed by layers of Santa Rosa plum, rose petal, and a whisper of violet. Sage, sandalwood, and crushed granite emerge with air, carrying a subtle mineral character. On the palate, the wine is bold with firm tannins and a ripe mid-palate framed by layers of texture.
