The 2022 Pisoni Estate Chardonnay is created from only four barrels of wine that hail from two small blocks at Pisoni Vineyards. The vines are situated in rocky soil and the plantings date back to 1999. This year the vines started budbreak early and stayed this course throughout the season. The chardonnay is a combination of clones that result in tiny berries and great texture. A vibrant greenish-gold in the glass in followed by exuberant aromatics. Native fermentation brings about long and complex fermentation, while no stirring of the lees retains vibrant tension in the wines. The purity is retained by bottling un-fined and un-filtered. In the glass, aromas of white peach, nectarine, Meyer lemon peel, and crushed stone fill the senses. Full and lengthy texture is brought to a refreshing finish with the bright acidity.
